Configuring your Newsreader

Important: This information is provided as a general guide to set up your news reader. For detailed instructions, or if you are using a news reader which is not listed, please contact the manufacturer of your news reader software.



Comfiguring Outlook Express to read the cavo.com newsgroups

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Choose Tools | Accounts menu item.
  3. Click on Add
  4. Choose News...
  5. Provide your name and email address.
  6. When the wizard prompts for the News Server (NNTP server) type in "news1.cavo.com" or "news2.cavo.com" and check the check box "My news server requires me to log on"
  7. Next you will be asked for Account name and password. These are your Account name and password from support.cavo.com. It is not necessary to check "Log on using SPA"
  8. Finish filling info then Click Finish.
  9. Outlook Express pops up a dialog box that says, "Would you like to download newsgroups from the news server your just added?" Choose Yes.
  10. You will then need to subscribe to the various public news group you wish to access by high lighting the news group and pushing the subscribe button.
